Chris Isaacs Race Cars

I have admired Chris Isaacs Standard Vanguard (above) for some time and thought it was time to pop down and see him and find out some more. Having constructed cars for 12 years working for someone else. Chris Isaacs Race Cars was formed in 1995 as an innovative, high-quality drag race chassis shop offering individually tailored fabrication solutions for all areas of the sport.
Its pretty obvious after talking to Chris for a short time that he is both very very knowledgeable about the construction and set up of the cars and passionate about drag racing. I am still working out in my head some of the more intricate areas of setting a car up for launch on the start line that Chris explained !
It was fascinating looking at the cars in his workshop and the way that Chris was building them for purpose. Whether it was a fast street/strip car like the Sunbeam which was running a 429 Ford in that tiny engine bay - cozy. Or the full on strip cars like the Anglias.
Chris works on his own and the focus on work shows. Having seen competition cars in most areas of motorsport I can say without doubt that the standard of Chris's work is as good if not better than you will find in any other area of motorsport. Which is reflected by the fact that many of his customers have won dozens of events, and several track and National Championships.
The
Standard Vanguard features 4130 chrome-moly chassis, 475ci big block Chevy with TH 400 transmission, and CIRC's zero-roll cantilever rear suspension.  The wheelstanding wagon runs 8.90s in Super Comp trim.
