Chevrolet C10 Build – Part Two

There is an order to the way the guys at the Roadster shop are putting in the exhaust on the 1969 C10 truck.

The C10’s body was gapped which means the metal surface isn’t exactly smooth. So before it can be painted the body will have to be smooth with filler.

Chevrolet makes a good looking truck. But the guys at the Roadster Shop want it to have it’s own special look. So this episode is all about how they design the ’69 C10 to be restored and modified.

A couple of episodes ago we saw the body of this 1969 Chevy C10 get smooth for paint. Now it’s time to put down some layers. Today is all about the perfect paint job!

This episode is all about the engine, transmission, and everything it takes to get both installed in this 1969 Chevy C10.

Nuts and bolts are one thing, but now we’ve come to the most tedious part of restoring and modifying this 1969 Chevy C10: installation of the truck’s plumbing.

From the pumps to the lines themselves, everything has to be tight enough to form a seal, but not so tight that something cracks and leaks fluid!

On this episode of Restoration Rollout 2013, the guys at the Roadster Shop are installing two critical, yet easily overlooked, parts of the 1969 Chevy C10 truck: The steering column and battery.

Just about everything in the truck needs to have wires run to it. It also needs to be circuited properly.

On this episode of Restoration Rollout 2013, Casey Rogalski from Roadster Shop wires everything from the engine to radio in this classic 1969 Chevy C10 truck.

This 1969 Chevy C10 has a classic stock look, therefore the guys at Roadster Shop don’t want to get too crazy with the interior modifications.
However, they did manage to tastefully incorporate some cool updates and creature comforts in the interior. Check out this video to see how it turned out!

Anyone can go pick out tires, but when you’re trying to select something that makes the truck run well on the road in an autocross, you’d better not screw it up!

Months of custom restoration and modification have finally paid off. The Roadster Shop crew took an old rust-bucket 1969 Chevy C10 pickup and turned it into a seriously custom muscle truck, thanks in part to your input along the way!

The entire crew at the Roadster Shop and Craftsman are proud of this truck. And it’s great that the truck won The GM Design Award for Best G Machine, but its final destination is the auction at Barrett-Jackson where the proceeds will go to Heroes at Home and the keys to a lucky driver who will experience the power of what was once just a beat up farm truck.

Craftsman and The Roadster Shop took the beautiful C10 truck to SEMA and it was fantastic meeting everyone who watched the show. Tune in and see our new award! The 2013 GM Design Award.
